Taking the course Communication and Culture with Dr. Stephanie Martinez, gave me a better understanding of how communication and culture influence each other through our assigned readings and discussions. Learning new ideas and various cultures from around the world helped me realize the need for intercultural communication competencies.
When conducting my final ethnography paper and presentation, I chose the Lawyer subculture in Mexico City. When conducting the interviews and completing this project I gained a greater appreciation for cultural diversity, which helped me not only learn about Lawyer culture in Mexico City, but also more about my own culture during this process.
